Beat Wing! This was a project that I worked on for about two years. The music was written and arranged by Alexander Emenheiser, with his friend Kaiman. This is a rhythm-based Bullet Hell shooter!

Unfortunately, as much as I love the concept for this game, there are several reasons why it wasn't working out:

1) Even after playing through the best bullet hells I could find for months, specifically NES/SNES era, I cannot plan the pacing of a bullet hell level at all. True study material for how to pace a Bullet Hell Shooter is sparse in existence.

2) The amount of artwork that I was going to need to make for this was insane. I didn't even begin to mock up concept designs for any of the planned bosses or enemies, and Bullet Hell Shooters live and die on variety.

3) GameMaker has VERY limited audio functions. The metronome system alone took about 6-8 months of programming and involved using timers, editing each sound file meticulously which had to be perfectly segmented right down to the millisecond.

4) I've realized that it took teams of nearly 5-8 people to make the best bullet hell shooters that I'm trying to ape when it'll just be me working on this.

This was a daunting project, and I didn't want to see it sit forever on a hard drive uncompleted, or unplayed. Thank you so much for playing!
